/// update : added some pics from last years haul out and some pics from earlier building the house , under cover. Compiling a list of parts and materials, and also a boat inventory list. Will be beginning some work on installing components and also removing a 15k genset / welding machine that I have installed in the engine room - I have a a 7.5 k onan 2cyl diesel marine genset I can include, which I’ve reconditioned already by purchasing 2 and making one good one , so I have a lot of spares for that to keep it running as well.
PRICE ON THE BOAT MAY INCREASE AS THE PROGRESS CONTINUES. I have to pay for helpers to get things done, and living ain’t cheap.
I’ve gotten deluged with emails and interested people , so here are some answers to frequent questions :
Sails : I bought a loft of sails a couple years back and have sorted through them. Have a set of older tanbarks for the boat, and a set of newer Dacron / battened sails. Shredded the mizzen in a Gale one time, so I got a new one but have not switched the cars over to it and rigged it. The sails are mostly labeled and tested, and I will include them all (like 30 sails of different sorts and a coupe chutes). None of them are “new “ but lotsa good ones.
Engine : Perkins 4-236M from Transatlantic diesel in Norfolk Virginia. Around 600? Hours on it, rebuilt starter, coolers , new pumps , new HO alternator , spares for most. Paragon reduction gear. Super overbuilt shaft at 3”, commercial fishing style thru hull
Bearings and drip less sea water fed stern gland setup. and wheel is larger than most at almost 30” (I forget but I have it written somewhere) Engine burns 1.5-1.7 gallons an hour at 1500 RPM and making @ 8 knots with a clean hull. Tried and true. I’ve pulled 30’ boats off beaches with this thing. She’s a big girl, and the mass helps with the tug. Since then I now have an ex uscg bouy tender that I use for work and salvage. But it was a lot of fun anyhow. Still is.
Boat has been super over zinced. Has 14 total. 10(?) or so of them were 229$ a piece last years haul. All professionally stand- off welded to hull and can be easily changed under water with 1.25” hardware (no little bits to drop). Rudder has 4 smaller zincs that I re used. HULL IS IN AMAZING SHAPE AND THE KEEL TANKS WERE STEAM CLEANED, resealed with 1000 bolts, and added armored manifold to hull to drain the tanks, if you had to. Much easier than a pump brigade.
Included / not installed :
New wind generator , cylinder style vertical , don’t recall the specs but it ran me like 900$.
Badass 24 volt Lew mar windlass with 3/8” gypsy set for BBB chain - boat has about 300’ foot on primary anchor ( which I custom made and is now @120 lb stainless with the name welded into the bottom , so it’s a badass hood ornament of sorts. Lunch hook is a 60 lb with about 80? Feet of chain. Has 2 older navy style anchors built into the fore deck and they have drains in the pockets they sit, and also has a 555 manual windlass currently installed and working. I also have already the wiring , and the relays to install the 24v into 12v system - basically a complex relay box. Diagrams on board. Uninstalled. All this stuff was around $3,500.
A few NEW unused ever poly tanks for H2O or waste , depending on how you would configure them. New water heater that uses 12 or 24v, 110 v, 220v? , or engine coolant loop. Uninstalled. Plenty of new hoses for waste plumbing. New electric head and plumbing and macerate for head. All this stuff was a little over $4,500 or so. I can use some of this gear on my other boats so I have to sort through it.
More details to follow !!!
