Peaco*ck Announces “Based on a True Story” Season 2 Premiere, Releases First Look
The Bartletts are back on the case. Peaco*ck has announced the Season 2 premiere date for its hit comedy-thriller series “Based on a True Story,” starring Kaley Cuoco and Chris Messina. The series follows Ava (Cuoco) and Nathan (Messina), a married couple feeling the weight of life and work amidst endless bills, marriage squabbles, mounting work pressures, and a baby on the way. But their lives get a shake-up when, spurred by Ava’s passion for true crime, she realizes that plumber-turned-family friend Matt (Tom Bateman) is the serial killer behind a string of unsolved murders in L.A. and the pair blackmail him into co-creating a podcast about his “work.”

In Season 2, Ava and Nathan are three months into parenthood, and Ava is determined to resist her true-crime obsession, but a new series of murders pulls her back in. Is Matt behind the slayings? And is Tory (Liana Liberato), now in a relationship with Matt, in danger?
The series also stars Priscilla Quintana and Natalia Dyer, with Li Jun Li, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, June Diane Raphael, Aisha Alfa, and others appearing in recurring roles. The complete eight-episode “Based on a True Story” Season 2 will be available on Thursday, Nov. 21.
Set your clock for the long-awaited return of Prime Video’s “The Devil's Hour.” The streamer has shared a first look at the sophom*ore season of the British drama thriller, starring Jessica Raine and Peter Capaldi.
Created by Tom Moran and executive produced by Steven Moffat, "The Devil's Hour" follows Lucy Chambers, a social worker who wakes every night at exactly 3:33 a.m. after experiencing terrifying visions during the so-called devil's hour. She soon discovers that her name is inexplicably connected to a string of brutal murders in the area, drawing her into the hunt for the real killer. Season 2 will see Lucy and Gideon (Capaldi) "form an uneasy alliance to prevent a recurring tragedy and hunt down an elusive monster, [and] Lucy's double life sees her torn between family and duty as she finds herself in the crosshairs of her past-life husband, DI Ravi Dhillon (Nikesh Patel).
Phil Dunster, Meera Syal, Alex Ferns, Barbara Marten, Benjamin Chivers, and Brandon Bendell make up the series' ensemble. Saffron Hocking, Thomas Dominique, and Rhiannon Harper-Rafferty will also join the cast for Season 2. The five-part Season 2 of "The Devil's Hour" will launch globally on Prime Video on Friday, Oct. 18.
HBO Renews Original Series “City of God: The Fight Rages On” for a Second Season
“City of God: The Fight Rages On” rages on. Following its global debut on Aug. 25, HBO has already renewed its new Original series for a second season. A sequel to the award-winning 2002 Brazilian crime epic “City of God,” “City of God: The Fight Rages On” picks up 20 years after the events of the film through the lens of Rocket (Alexandre Rodrigues), who returns to the community following a young drug dealer’s release from prison that once again puts the City of God in dispute and disarray. Trapped between drug dealers, militias, and government authorities, the community is driven to unite and confront their oppressors.

The cast also includes Thiago Martins, Roberta Rodrigues, Sabrina Rosa, Kiko Marques, Edson Oliveira, Andréia Horta, Marcos Palmeira, Jefferson Brasil, Eli Ferreira, Luellem de Castro, Otávio Linhares, Rafael Lozano, Leandro Daniel, and Luiz Bertazzo. The six-episode series recently debuted on HBO Latino and Max and will continue with weekly releases every Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT, with the second episode airing and streaming this Sunday, Sept. 1.
Paramount+ Releases “Apartment 7A” Trailer
Welcome home to the Bramford. Paramount+ has released the official trailer for its upcoming psychological thriller feature “Apartment 7A,” starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Julia Garner (“Ozark”). A prequel to the horror classic “Rosemary's Baby” directed by Natalie Erika James (“Relic”), “Apartment 7A” is set in 1965 New York City and explores what happened at the infamous apartment building before Rosemary became a resident.

Set in 1965 New York City, the film tells the story prior to the legendary horror classic Rosemary’s Baby, exploring what happened in the infamous Bramford building before Rosemary moved in. Garner plays Terry Gionoffrio, a struggling young dancer recovering from a devastating injury who finds herself drawn in by dark forces when a peculiar, well-connected, older couple promises her a shot at fame. In “Rosemary’s Baby,” Gionoffrio appears as a recovering drug addict played by Victoria Vetri.
Co-starring are Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess, and Kevin McNally, with Marli Siu, Andrew Buchan, Rosy McEwen, and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith. “Apartment 7A” will stream exclusively on Paramount+ on Friday, Sept. 27, after its premiere at this year’s Fantastic Fest.
“Lioness” Season 2 Gets Premiere Date
Paramount+ has announced the premiere date for the second season of its star-studded original military drama “Lionness.” Created by Taylor Sheridan (“Yellowstone”), the espionage thriller stars Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Laysla De Oliveira, Morgan Freeman, Michael Kelly, and others and centers on the CIA’s Lioness program. Per the official synopsis, in Season 2, as the CIA’s fight against terror moves closer to home, Joe (Saldaña), Kaitlyn (Kidman), and Byron (Kelly) enlist a new Lioness operative to infiltrate a previously unknown threat. With pressure mounting from all sides, Joe is forced to confront the profound personal sacrifices she has made as the leader of the Lioness program.”

“Outer Banks” Season 4 Teaser Out Now
The adventure continues in the biggest “Outer Banks” season yet! Netflix has released the teaser for the upcoming two-part fourth season of its action-adventure mystery series. Set in a community in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, a coastal town where there is a stark divide between the wealthy and the working class, the teen drama tracks two groups, the seasonal Kooks and the local Pogues, in search of a lost treasure while the Pogues also try to find out what happened to the father of the group’s ringleader, John B., evading the Kooks and the law in the process.
