  Helping communities on the path to better health isn't always an easy feat – just ask Keme Henderson, MSW, LSW, a #TeamCVS social worker who dedicated her time to get a member the accommodations he needed 👇♿ Keme worked with Russell Crawford, a wheelchair user and an Aetna, a CVS Health Company Medicare dual eligible special needs plan (D-SNP) member who was practically confined to his building.🌆 Russell's apartment wasn't wheelchair-friendly, making it impossible for him to leave without help – not only for important health care visits, but also for safety, groceries or fresh air.🙌 That's when Keme stepped up to the challenge to ensure a wheelchair-accessible ramp was installed, collaborating with Russell's primary care physicians, his building management, and even his state's Civil Rights Commission.Thank you, Keme, and all our colleagues who rise to the occasion and play such an integral role in the well-being of those we serve.

  We made the bold decision in September 2014 to remove tobacco products from our CVS Pharmacy shelves nationwide – because we all play a part in helping to eliminate smoking, the number 1 cause of preventable death in the world. 🚭 Today, to help people quit smoking, we offer smoking cessation services both in-person and virtually at MinuteClinic. Need help? Schedule an appointment with your local MinuteClinic provider to review options to help you quit. Removing tobacco from our store shelves was just the first of many steps in our mission to bolster access to affordable, quality health care – and our work is never done. #WorldNoTobaccoDay

  As we celebrate #AAPIHeritageMonth, we're proud to spotlight #TeamCVS colleague Jennifer Nguyen, whose heritage has shaped how she views the world, approaches her work and supports her colleagues. 📦 As a 4-year-old, Jennifer left Vietnam with her parents, not realizing that was the beginning of her life in the United States. Growing up, she found herself navigating two cultures. ❤️ Today, Jennifer embraces her dual heritage. As Aetna, a CVS Health Company’s Lead Director and Chief of Strategy and Operations for the Health Care and Cost Management Analytics team, she connects with colleagues who are foreign nationals but work in the U.S., using her background to support them as they navigate challenges. 🌱 Jennifer attributes her mindset to a central part of Vietnamese culture: Thinking about the collective – family, friends, and others. Through her desire to help others feel proud of their roots, Jennifer serves as our New York chapter co-lead for the APNA Colleague Resource Group, being a voice and ally for others. All year round, we’re grateful for Jennifer and all of our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) colleagues for their advocacy and pride for their cultural heritage at work and in our communities.

  #DidYouKnow that only 8% of Americans undergo routine health screenings yearly? Enter our Project Health mobile vans, on-the-road to meet our communities where they are with free, community-based health screenings. 🚐 For Reina Vega, a client relations executive in specialty sales with #TeamCVS, it had been a while since her last checkup with her primary care doctor. While participating in a local community event and waiting for it to begin, she saw one of our mobile clinics and spontaneously decided to get a free biometric health screening. And it's a good thing she did – because her screening helped her catch dangerously high cholesterol levels which she otherwise would've missed, putting her at an elevated risk for a heart attack or stroke. Last year alone, Project Health provided 200,000 health screenings at over 1,700 events nationwide – helping community members like Reina take control of their health and set themselves on the road to a healthier future. 🛣️
