Can you eat eggs on steroids?
Your muscles act as a sponge and soak up the protein, carbs and other nutrients you consume. That's why it's important to prioritize high-protein foods in your meal plan while on steroids. Eat plenty of fish and lean meat as well as eggs, cottage cheese and low-fat dairy.
Prednisone can have a negative effect on metabolism. Cravings seem to be heightened so drinking water, eating fruits and vegetables can help. Sometimes fruit or vegetable smoothies can fill us up. Protein in the morning (eggs and cheese – flavored soy cheese is good) might help with cravings during the day.
In all honesty, it is difficult to say whether this small amount of testosterone would have any anabolic effect. However, eggs do contain a significant amount of androstenedione, which is another precursor to testosterone, and one week of 36 eggs a day would be the equivalent of 750 mg of androstenedione!!

For most healthy adults, it's safe to eat 1–2 eggs a day depending on how much other cholesterol is in your diet. If you already have high cholesterol or other risk factors for heart disease, it may be best to eat no more than 4–5 eggs per week.
Eggs are a good source of high-quality protein and other nutrients that are important for muscle growth, such as amino acids and vitamins. However, eating six eggs a day may not be necessary or beneficial for most people.
What not to eat when on steroids?
It is important to avoid "simple" carbohydrates and concentrated sweets, such as cakes, pies, cookies, jams, honey, chips, breads, candy and other highly processed foods. This helps keep blood sugar low. Limit saturated fat and cholesterol. Choose lean meats, poultry and fish.
The higher the dose and the longer the duration of treatment, the more likely you are to put on weight. You can control fluid retention by eating a diet low in sodium and eating more foods that contain potassium such as bananas, apricots, and dates.
You can usually drink alcohol while taking steroid tablets, but do not drink too much as this may irritate your stomach. You can also eat most foods while taking steroid tablets. Do not eat liquorice while taking prednisolone, however, as this can increase the amount of the medicine in your body.
Who Needs to Eat More Protein? Steroid users actually need more protein than natural lifters. Enhanced lifters have an elevated rate of protein synthesis around the clock. In addition to blunting the effect of cortisol, steroids increase how much protein you can use to build muscle.
Steroid therapy has the potential to interfere with the normal absorption and utilization of specific nutrients, including calcium, potassium, sodium, protein, and vitamins C and D. A dramatic increase in appetite can occur. Focusing on low calorie foods can prevent extreme weight gain.
Steroids affect your metabolism and how your body deposits fat. This can increase your appetite, leading to weight gain, and in particular lead to extra deposits of fat in your abdomen. Self-care tips: Watch your calories and exercise regularly to try to prevent excessive weight gain.
Prednisone can make the body lose potassium. A very low level of potassium can cause health problems, so a blood test may be necessary from time to time to check the level. You may need to eat more fruits which contain potassium - like bananas or apricots - or take potassium tablets.
While it might seem counterintuitive, drinking more water helps maintain a proper fluid balance and reduce water retention. But if you notice ankle swelling, speak with your doctor. Gastrointestinal symptoms: Take your doses of prednisone with some food in your stomach.
Take prednisolone with breakfast so it does not upset your stomach. Taking prednisolone in the morning also means it's less likely to affect your sleep. If your prednisolone tablets are labelled as "enteric coated" or "gastro resistant", you can take these with or without food but make sure to swallow them whole.
Try not to add a lot of butter, margarine, salad dressing or gravy to your food. Cut back on desserts like cakes, pies, chocolate and creamy ice cream. Instead, try ginger snap cookies, angel food cake, low fat ice cream, frozen yogurt, sherbet or fruit for dessert. Drink 4-6 cups of water everyday.
Can I eat pizza on prednisone?
When taking Prednisone, avoid foods that tend to have high amounts of added sodium. This includes frozen, canned and fast foods like French fries and pizza. You also should avoid salting your food, which can introduce unnecessary sodium into your diet.
But there are steps you can take to decrease the risk of unwanted side effects. Things to avoid (or cut back on) while taking prednisone include: Caffeine: Caffeine can add to the unwanted stimulant effects of prednisone. Combining caffeine with steroids can keep you awake at night or make you feel jittery and anxious.
